El INECOL invita a participar en las Convocatorias para ocupar dos puestos de investigador de elevada calidad de México y del resto del mundo. Los investigadores deberán mostrar un perfil compatible y congruente con el estudio de insectos y hongos que se describe abajo. La revisión de las solicitudes comenzará inmediatamente y continuará hasta que las/los candidatas (os) hayan sido identificadas/os. Las/los candidatas/os elegidas/os se incorporarán a un grupo de trabajo de la Red Biodiversidad y Sistemática.
INECOL es una institución financiada por el gobierno federal de México que realiza investigación y formación de estudiantes en ecología y sus disciplinas relacionadas (www.inecol.mx). Es un Centro Público de Investigación coordinado por el Consejo Nacional de Ciencia y Tecnología (CONACyT). INECOL tiene su Sede Central en los municipios de Xalapa y Coatepec, Veracruz, y un Centro Regional en Pátzcuaro, Michoacán. Además, cuenta con tres estaciones de campo: 1) un ecosistema tropical/costero en La Mancha Veracruz, 2) un bosque de pino en La Michilía y 3) una región desértica en Mapimí; estas dos últimas en Durango. También cuenta con el Jardín Botánico Francisco Javier Clavijero (8 ha) y el Santuario del Bosque de Niebla (30 ha) en Xalapa. Actualmente cuenta con 121 científicos de tiempo completo, 121 técnicos, 88 administradores, más de 100 estudiantes de posgrado y más de 100 colaboradores financiados por proyectos externos. La vida académica está organizada alrededor de diez Redes Académicas o Departamentos: Biodiversidad y Sistemática, Ecología Funcional, Ambiente y Sustentabilidad, Biología Evolutiva, Manejo Bio-Racional de Plagas y Vectores, Manejo de Recursos Biotecnológicos, Ecoetología, Biología y Conservación de Vertebrados, Interacciones Multitróficas y Estudios Moleculares Avanzados. 1. INVESTIGADOR EN: BIODIVERSIDAD Y SISTEMÁTICA DE INSECTOS, CON PARTICULAR ÉNFASIS EN EL ORDEN HEMÍPTERA DE MÉXICO.

Título del Puesto: Investigador (Titular A).
Características del puesto: Tiempo completo, 12 meses. El nombramiento es renovable anualmente en función del rendimiento y financiamiento. Después de tres años, las/los candidatas/os pueden solicitar la definitividad, en apego al procedimiento de contrataciones con exámenes de aptitudes mencionados más adelante.
Descripción general: La/el candidata/o seleccionada/o trabajará en la Red Biodiversidad y Sistemática para realizar estudios de campo y de laboratorio sobre la taxonomía, nomenclatura, diversidad, morfología, sistemática molecular y evolución de insectos, preferentemente con conocimiento en tratamientos entomofaunísticos, revisiones taxonómicas y métodos de análisis filogenéticos actuales de hemípteros neotropicales, ya sea de manera individual y/o cooperando con los investigadores de la Red, así como con otros del INECOL o de otras instituciones interesados en estos temas.
Es importante señalar que la/el investigadora/or será evaluada/o anualmente por los integrantes de la red de adscripción y por las autoridades del INECOL; la evaluación se llevará a cabo con base en el programa de trabajo acordado y siguiendo lo estipulado en el Estatuto del Personal Académico (EPA disponible en línea: http://normateca.inecol.edu.mx/normateca/). INECOL invites applications from Mexico and the rest of the world to occupy two high quality, research scientist positions. Researches must have a specialized profile of insects and fungi studies as below described. Review of applications will begin immediately and will continue until the suitable candidates have been identified/selected. Selected candidates will join a working group of the Network Biodiversity and Systematics.
INECOL is an institution funded by the Mexican government which performs research and student training in ecology and related disciplines (www.inecol.mx). It is coordinated by the Mexican Science and Technology Council (CONACyT). ). INECOL head office is located in the municipalities of Xalapa and Coatepec, Veracruz. It counts also with a Regional Center, located in the city of Patzcuaro, state of Michoacán, and with three field stations: 1) in a tropical/shore ecosystem at Veracruz (La Mancha), 2) in a pine/oak forest at the Michilía locality and 3) at the desert region, in Mapimí; both latter at Durango state. INECOL also manages an 8 ha Botanical Garden and a 30 ha Cloud Forest Sanctuary in Xalapa, Veracruz. Position Title: Researcher (Investigador Titular A).
Employment Status: Full-Time, 12 months. The appointment is renewable depending upon performance and funding. After three years, candidates can apply for tenure, according to the established hiring procedure that includes the aptitude tests mentioned below.
General Description: The selected researcher will will work in the Biodiversity and Systematics Network, developing research on taxonomy, nomenclature, diversity, morphology, molecular systematics and evolution of insects, with preference in entomofaunistic treatments, taxonomic revisions and phylogenetic analysis of Neotropical insects, conducted individually and/or through collaboration with other researchers of the network, as well as with others at INECOL networks, and researchers from other institutions interested in these subjects.
It is important to point that the researcher will be assessed yearly by the members of the research group and by INECOL authorities. The evaluation will be carried out in accordance with the work program stipulated and the Estatuto del Personal Académico (EPA see: http://normateca.inecol.edu.mx/normateca/). Responsibilities
To carry out regional faunistic studies of the Hemiptera of Mexico.
Conduct long-term studies on Hemiptera systematic and allied groups.
Publish scientific paper in internationally recognized journals with impact factor publications for public consumption.
Prepare and submit research proposals to obtain funding for research and to contribute to the development and equipment of ascribed network.
Participate in the professional formation of students of INECOL’s Masters and Doctoral programs, including teaching courses and directing theses. In addition, the candidate should participate in undergraduate level courses and provide experiences for undergraduate students (social service and professional practices) from academic institutions.
Participate in science outreach activities of INECOL (including the Centro Regional del Bajío).
